I know this is an old thread but I have to recommend Untamed by Glennon Doyle. I listened to it and as she herself narrates it the storytelling factor is another level. It was one of those books that I instantly wanted to listen to it again straight away after finishing it.

Ooo lots for the list. I've read Where the Crawdads Sing twice during lockdown. I loved it so much. The skill of writing so evocatively of a place gave me goosebumps.

I have just finished Toni Morrison's Mouth Full of Blood — so good for those of you writing creative non-fiction out there. Now starting Maggie Nelson's The Red Parts, which is difficult but a masterclass in book-length first person narrative.

I am reading and loving Girl,Woman,Other by Bernardine Evaristo. It’s depriving me of much needed sleep as I can’t put it down! Highly recommend reading

Not a book but I thought I May Destroy You on BBC was totally amazing. With the main character being a writer, it felt both inspiring and terrifying for an aspiring writer. The breadth of what was addressed in the series was incredible and reminds me to be brave. I don't have to stay in my lane, complexity is hard but worth it.

I've just finished Candice Brathwaite's I'm Not Your Baby Mother too and agree it really helped me to reflect on my own racial biases and has led me to some more anti-racism books; next on my list is Me and White Supremacy by Layla Salad. I'm also dipping in and out of The Artists Way for Parents, I read the original Artists Way last year. Has anyone else read either and what do you think? I find the morning pages very helpful.

I've just finished I'm Not your Baby Mother, Candice Brathwaite. I loved the style of writing that mixed facts with personal autobiographical moments from Candice's life. It really flowed together well and also made me confront any prejudices I may have.

I'm not managing to read much atm. Have a massive pile waiting for me though! Last book was The Girls by Emma Cline. Very much a scintillating page turner. Was wondering what writer / literary podcasts you all listen to? I'm loving the Sunday Salon, Honest Writers, Women's Prize for Fiction and The Wintering Sessions. Also The Royal Court's Play wright's Podcast.
